Secondary Education

The Secondary Education Program offers at Bachelor of Arts in Teaching (B.A.T.) with majors in six subject areas. The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Secondary Education prepares K-12 teachers in a wide variety of instruction areas.

Bachelor of Arts in Teaching (B.A.T.)

The Bachelor of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Education offers five majors: English, Social Studies, French, German and Spanish.

Drama Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in Drama Education that leads to licensure for 7-12 instruction.

English Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in English Education that leads to licensure for 7-12 instruction.

Social Studies Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in Social Studies Education that leads to licensure for 7-12 instruction.

French Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in French Education that leads to licensure for K-12 instruction.

German Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in German Education that leads to licensure for K-12 instruction.

Spanish Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching in Spanish Education that leads to licensure for K-12 instruction.

Minor in STEM Education

The 15-credit hour minor is designed for STEM majors to develop communication skills and understandings about learning and teaching in the disciplines Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. Minor courses can be applied to the 24 credit-hour program of study for teacher licensure.

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)

The Secondary Education M.A.T. program is a one-year, full-time program where students serve internships in area schools while completing courses for the graduate degree.
